THE ROLE

As a critical member of the HR team, the Associate Director for Executive Developmentwill report to the Head of Organizational Development & Learning (ODL). In this new role, the Associate Directorwill collaborate closely with the ODL team, HR Business Partners, and business leaders to develop cutting edge, immersive, and impactful senior leadership development programs in a distributed workforce. The role will be highly visible, shifting leaders’ mindsets and building skillsets to better enable them to tackle the change in the current environment, build high performing teams, and achieve our strategic priorities as a firm. The Associate Director will also need to have strong leadership skills, as they would have a team of 2-3 reporting into them.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the design and execution of high-quality leadership programs and experiences for senior leaders across the firm, in a distributed workforce.

  • Manage end-to-end leadership program lifecycle from the needs assessment, design and development, implementation, participant experience, evaluation, to ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement.

  • Analyze and measure impact of programs to determine ongoing needs for continuous improvement of content and approach.

  • Provide ongoing thought leadership to drive new and immersive learning solutions in the leadership development space (simulations, adaptive learning solutions, coaching, etc.).

  • Provide coaching for leaders throughout the firm, both informally and perhaps formally.

  • Develop tools and strategies to support leaders in building high performing teams, driving team collaboration, leading through change, and thriving in a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous) environment.

  • Collaborate and partner closely with the ODL team, HR Business Partners, and critical stakeholders to ensure leadership solutions are aligned to critical business needs and support outcomes from talent reviews and succession planning conversations.

  • Find, select, and partner with external vendors to deliver tailored yet scalable leadership development solutions.

  • Expand our executive coaching programs, relationships, and initiatives.

  • Lead a team of 2-3 experienced professionals within the Organizational Development & Learning team.

  • Utilize data to inform decision making; collect data where it does not exist.

Qualifications / Experiences:

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience designing and delivering high impact, interactive and engaging leadership and executive development programs.

  • Bachelors degree required; Masters in HR or Leadership Development / Organizational Development / Behavior / Psychology preferred

  • Expertise with leadership development models, competencies, interactive learning modalities (e.g., simulations)

  • Deep knowledge of 360 multi-rater assessments, personality inventories, and other leadership assessment tools

  • Deep knowledge of OD and leadership assessment

  • Certification in personality inventories, particularly MBTI, is preferred

  • Depth of knowledge in executive coaching; certification preferred

  • Strong design, facilitation, and program management skills

  • Strong written, interpersonal and presentation skills 

  • Proven success quickly building credibility at all levels of the organization, including with senior leaders

  • Successful track record of leading a team, providing feedback, and actively developing their direct reports

  • Experience selecting and partnering with external vendors to craft and deliver tailored, scalable, high impact solutions

  • Experience juggling multiple competing demands, demonstrating urgency, flexibility and agility as business priorities shift

  • Knowledge of systems thinking, along with the ability to think at a global / enterprise view

  • Resilient and able to thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to flex from the strategic level to detailed operational execution and back

  • Excellent consulting, collaboration, organizational and change management skills

  • Learning mindset and passion for continuous growth

  • Experience in financial services is a bonus
