This leader will work across the enterprise to define, design, and execute against strategic objectives to deliver highly performant, resilient and scalable solutions. They proactively collaborate and build relationships with peer leaders and stakeholders to articulate system capability and align features to the organization’s strategic initiative roadmap, keeping modernization and cloud evolution on the radar.
The Director provides guidance on workload as needed including an agile approach for prioritizing backlogs, user stories, features, and such. The position embraces effective leadership strategies and leverages mentoring and professional development planning in support of their teams, advocating for career development and growth. They act as an escalation point for technical troubleshooting and beyond, encouraging process improvement and removing roadblocks; must have the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and coach team members through them as well.
This role is Hybrid. You should be located within a commutable distance to one of our offices located in Baltimore MD, Charlotte NC, Wilmington DE, Evansville IN, Chicago IL, or Dallas/Fort Worth TX. Candidates outside the posted locations will not be considered without a cover letter indicating your willingness to relocate.
Responsibilities:
Oversee integration and orchestration teams, manage hiring practices, and drive the overall growth and development of team members.
Set the tone and direction for the engineering team, supporting a culture of code quality, documentation, and thoughtful design tradeoffs. Anticipate strategic and scaling challenges via intentional long-term planning.
Interface directly with company and technology leaders to ensure your teams’ activities align with overall product and company goals.
Create a center of excellence practice for orchestration engine usage across the enterprise.
Develop guidance, policy, and standards, and develop governance processes to enforce adherence across engineering community.
Drive a discipline of documentation and a practice of maintaining guidance of standards, patterns, and enforcement.
Safeguard platform maintenance for long-term stability and sustainability.
Ensure production applications are stable and operating as expected with sufficient production support models and operations.
Leverage tools and processes to identify and address bottlenecks early; drive that practice into team routines and automate where possible.
Participate in and contribute to strategic technology planning.
Assist with vetting out, prioritizing, and driving product roadmaps and platform roadmaps.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, with higher-level education preferred.
8+ years in a technical management position (managed people and projects).
5+ years of experience working with any of the following: Integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Tibco; Languages such as Java, .NET, Angular/React, TypeScript; Databases such as SQL, Postgres; Orchestration engines such as Camunda, Temporal.
5+ years’ experience with automation preferably in Middleware Engineering
3+ year experience with JIRA / Confluence.
5+ year experience with Agile Scrum methodology with strong knowledge of agile practices and routines.
Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple and competing priorities.
Ability to create and foster relationships within a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills conducive to collaboration; able to work well in a multi-functional, matrix management environment.
