The Lead Financial Analyst will play an integral role in developing sales analyses as well as other analyses that seek to understand the drivers of our business. The goal is to provide proactive insights to our internal business partners in an effort to maximize sales and earnings. This position will enable FP&A to more efficiently and effectively assist the Network Support Team by shifting resources and responsibilities within the group to provide the data and analytics, including training support analytics.
The Lead Analyst will report, monitor and analyze the Company's results and metrics effectively so that recommendations for strategies, objectives, and plans can be derived and given to senior business leaders. The Analyst will partner with business leaders with a goal of providing them with proactive insights to maximize sales and earnings.
The Analyst will help prepare reports and presentations for the organization on the researched results and monthly production. The Analyst will need to be a quick learner on our in-house data systems and will have responsibility for project work as well as other ad hoc requests.
The Analyst’s duties will include but not be limited to:
Analyze sales and relationships to come up with strategies to improve sales efficiency.
Analyze, maintain, improve, and create analysis that will be used to improve sales performance.
Pull monthly/quarterly actual and forecast
Plan data and update monthly management presentation decks and graphs.
Utilize the in-house data cubes and other database sources to retrieve product/sales/demographic information that will be used to derive leading indicators to identify and head off potential issues that will impact revenue.
Present findings to Management and Executives.
Assess the financial impact of potential new products.
Monthly cost center expense analysis and follow-up.
Data loads to forecast systems.
Annual budget support.
Research, explain and/or reconcile variances between actuals and budget/outlook.
Qualifications/ Position requirements
6-9 years of experience in a financial analyst position
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or related.
Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; SQL or other database experience is required.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills to put together summarized/detail explanations for Sr. level management commentary.
Ability to balance routine tasks with urgent ad hoc analysis.
Must have the ability to work independently (self-starter) and as part of a team.
Needs understanding of Accounting principles and financial reporting to analyze P&L, Balance Sheet, and expense details.
Insurance and/or consumer lending experience a plus.
