You will be supporting various companywide initiatives to develop, enhance and execute front end workflows via decision rules engine and connectivity across the origination life cycle. You will be collaborating with business and technology colleagues in defining the vision, scope, key business processes and functional requirements. As a critical contributor you will be responsible for the analysis phase of projects, design of the optimal target state, development and execution of target state, and post deployment monitoring and reporting.

We would like this role to be located within driving distance to Baltimore MD/Wilmington DE for occasional visits to our office for meaningful interaction at least once a month.


Your key responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a team of decision rule engineers to deliver quality product within deadlines

  • Business-focused collaboration with Information Technology and Strategy Development teams to help develop and modify decision platforms to ensure accurate and nimble strategy execution.

  • Responsible for proactive participation in various design, testing and execution meetings. Set reasonable expectations and provide timely updates on execution timelines.

  • Devise & execute comprehensive testing strategies in the rules engine and actively participate in cross systemic testing. Lead post deployment testing.

  • Provide both technical and business guidance to team members in solving credit execution challenges

  • Work collaboratively across business, technical, and senior stakeholders to identify new opportunities and to improve current underwriting system capabilities

  • Manage integration and configuration of new data sources and credit risk models into the decisioning pipeline with exhaustive testing

  • Coordinate with external vendors like credit bureaus on deliverables & testing scheduling

  • Identify and share industry best practices and work with partners for their feasibility and possible implementation

  • Act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness becomes apparent. Take lead in escalating such issues and assist in root cause analysis and sizing.

Skills and experiences

  • Financial services experience with heavy use of predictive models and strategy-based decision making platforms

  • Experience coaching and leading a team of rules developers

  • Must have experience in decision rules engine development 

  • Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders

  • Ability to identify, assess, monitor control, and mitigate risks in projects implementation.

  • Ability to articulate areas of risk and concerns to senior management and cross functional teams. Develop effective mitigation strategies and seek consensus from partners

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS or related field
