Location: Wilmington, DE (Hybrid)

Job Description

We are seeking an Associate Director to join our Risk team in Wilmington, DE. This individual will work in a dynamic, agile team that’s responsible for design, build and maintenance of the Decision Rule Engines to enable business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage data analytics to generate actionable insights, continuously improving and adopting new technology solutions
  • Business-focused collaboration with strategy teams to help modify decision rule platforms and ensure accurate and nimble strategy execution
  • Work collaboratively across business, technical, and senior stakeholders to identify execution opportunities and improve current underwriting system capabilities
  • Develop testing & control procedures to ensure execution accuracy
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of software engineering practices
  • Lead implementation of decision rules projects and encourage engineering innovation
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
  • Participate in talent development & mentorship to meet business objectives and strategy

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, CIS/MIS, engineering, or related statistical field (Master’s degree preferred) and 7+ years in financial services or other organization with heavy use of predictive models and strategy-based decision-making platforms

  • 5+ years’ experience using credit decision tools like PowerCurve, STRATA, Blaze, Zoot, Provenir or other comparable rules engine
  • Exposure to machine learning execution and related analytical tools
  • 3+ years of core programming knowledge (JavaScript, Python etc.) to implement integration logic and a strong fundamental understanding of data structures
  • Familiarity with Linux environment including scripting skills
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (Preferably AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
  • Experience with Agile software development processes with a emphasis on test driven development
  • Proficient in SQL
