As a key member of the Credit & Pricing Analytics Leadership team, the Vice President/Managing Director of Valuations will be responsible for driving business results through areas including growth and revenue strategies, optimization, risk management, and streamlining of processes in support of a healthy lending portfolio. Working with various partners, the role will also have responsibilities of reporting, strategy implementation, strategy validation and ad-hoc analyses including customer segmentation, competitive analysis, performance monitoring, sensitivity analysis and modeling.
This new leader will translate strategic priorities into a set of underwriting, reporting, modeling and other analytical priorities for their team. Their skills should allow them to be versatile and enable them to represent the company and engage with key business stakeholders, suppliers, external partners and investors. Ideally capable of leading various types of functions or initiatives across multiple disciplines of our business.
A successful candidate will expand their competencies and grow their business and industry acumen, as well as demonstrate the ability to work on complex processes or projects across the end-to-end project cycle. They will gain knowledge to suggest new answers to old questions, develop insights and push the traditional boundaries of the lending industry. They bring new ways of thinking, data sources, technologies and capabilities to our business.
Develop the vision and set of objectives to optimize our lending portfolio
Lead team to conduct statistical analysis and develop profit-driven decision framework and risk strategies within risk appetite with full credit cycle view to drive healthy growth
Independently lead the entire project lifecycle for complex analysis, strategies and models
Partner with other leaders to define business priorities, align talent and resources and communicate progress to executive management
Drive profitable business growth via developing strategy optimization framework with full credit-cycle view
Understand the data environment to appropriately prioritize and set expectations for key reporting, modeling, and analytical priorities
Leverage traditional regression models and machine learning algorithms to understand the key drivers and estimate customer behaviors
Draw conclusions and influence at all levels of the organization
Organization development - hiring, developing and leading the efforts of others
Effectively prioritize competing initiatives across direct reports; translate strategic priorities into individual/team initiatives and manage expectations
Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline (Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Business Management or Computer Science)
12+ years of experience in consumer lending preferably in risk underwriting or risk portfolio management driving informative risk decisions through analyses; Master’s or PHD degrees may offset experience.
8+ years of leadership experience, building and prioritizing teams and objectives based on company strategy
Advanced analytical skillset using tools such as SAS, SQL, R, Python
Familiar with decision tree analyses and segmentation tools like CART, knowledge seeker, etc
Innovative and capable of developing creative solutions to complex, data-driven problems
Prior experience building advanced models using statistical analysis tools or machine learning
