Role Overview:
As a Development Delivery Manager at One Main Financial, you will play a critical role in overseeing a team of 4-5 engineers and driving the success of a cutting-edge communications project. We are seeking a servant leader who is self-sufficient and self-starting, and who has a passion for fostering a culture of inclusivity within their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development lifecycle and will be highly skilled in people management and project management.
Responsibilities:
- Break down projects into reasonable MVPs
- Interface directly with business and technology leaders to ensure your teams’ activities align with overall product and company goals
- Identify and address bottlenecks early
- Contribute to our strategic technology planning, prioritizing, and driving our product roadmap
- Lead the Communication initiatives not limited to engineering development supporting new/extended initiatives, campaigns setup, execution and production support.
- Assist business platform users with the development and execution of campaign workflow which includes staging and sequencing of campaign messaging.
- Intimately learn and understand the technical details of our Prospect and Customer communications capabilities and systems to become not only an expert in them, but also understand the underlying process and integrations.
- Work with stakeholders to document a deployment readiness checklist, and act as the principal lead on insuring configurations have been tested and validated prior to campaign launch.
- Act as the first point of contact for user requests for help and escalation of new technology or capability requests, and any bug-fix issues.
- Lead and manage a team of 5+ engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Oversee the development and execution of a brand-new greenfield project, collaborating closely with the Product and Business teams.
- Help the team define and create key code deliverables, ensuring high-quality and timely completion.
- Champion and implement Agile methodologies, driving continuous improvement and ensuring the team's adherence to Agile practices.
- Run scrum meetings and other Agile ceremonies, facilitating effective communication and collaboration within the team.
- Manage the relationship between the Product and Business teams, ensuring alignment and effective coordination.
- Drive a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation within the team and across the organization.
- Foster servant leadership, empowering team members to excel and grow in their roles.
- Utilize your management skills to create a positive and motivating work environment.
- Understand OneMain’s strategic and competitive position and deliver software that drive the business forward, balancing both short- and long-term goals
Requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience as a software engineer, with a strong foundation in software development practices and principles.
- Experience in communications technology ecosystem driving campaigns development and support.
- 1-2 years of experience as a manager, successfully leading and managing teams of 3-5 people.
- Proven ability to manage relationships between Product and Business teams, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
- Familiarity with AWS/cloud technologies and infrastructure.
- Strong expertise in people management and project management, with the ability to run scrum and manage people effectively.
- Excellent leadership skills, with a focus on servant leadership and the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
- A passion for creating a positive team culture and promoting inclusivity.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, experience with JIRA, Confluence and defect tracking tools.
- Ability to navigate in a nimble environment and drive success in unknown territory.
- B.S. in Information systems, Finance or a related field, Masters Preferred.
