OneMain Financial is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior QE Engineer with broad technical expertise to lead the design, development, and optimization of test automation frameworks, data-driven testing strategies, and quality engineering processes across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on experience with automation tools for web, mobile, and API testing, along with strong integration skills to streamline workflows and enhance test reporting and analytics.
The successful candidate will have a passion for leveraging GenAI solutions and building scalable, robust automation inventories. They will work closely with software developers, product owners, DevOps, business, and operations teams to expand the scope and reach of automation, integrating automation deliverables into CI/CD pipelines and ensuring alignment with delivery workflows.
This role involves partnering with cross-functional teams to drive quality initiatives and deliver actionable insights through KPI dashboards and interactive reporting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in test automation, synthetic test data generation, data visualization for reporting, and a strong understanding of quality metrics. Domain knowledge in personal lending, banking or financial services is considered a strong asset.
Responsibilities
Test Automation & Framework Development
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for web, mobile, API, and data testing using tools such as Selenium, Appium, Mabl, and Postman.
- Develop and automate functional, system integration, performance, and API test cases.
- Apply GenAI solutions to expand automation inventory and accelerate testing cycles.
- Integrate automation deliverables into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring alignment with delivery workflows.
Test Data & Environment Management
- Implement dynamic and synthetic test data generation strategies to support comprehensive testing scenarios.
- Support test environments setup including configuration, and coordination with DevOps and infrastructure teams.
- Execute backend data validation using SQL, PostgreSQL, and MySQL ensuring data integrity and supporting complex query-based testing.
- Utilize mocking applications and libraries to simulate system components and enable isolated testing.
System Integration & Workflow Automation
- Integrate automation frameworks with test management systems (Jira, Spira), reporting platforms (Grafana, ServiceNow), and data pipelines.
- Automate workflows across multiple systems using API integrations to streamline testing processes and eliminate manual intervention.
- Ensure seamless data flow between test execution, defect tracking, and reporting systems.
Reporting & Quality Metrics
- Design and implement KPI dashboards by aggregating data from diverse testing tools into interactive reports, charts, and visualizations.
- Monitor key quality indicators such as execution rates, defect counts, resolution times, and trend analyses.
- Deliver actionable insights to identify bottlenecks, highlight risks, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
- Track and analyze QE KPIs, ensuring accurate source data collection and alignment with leadership reporting needs.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Initiatives
- Collaborate with software developers, product owners, DevOps, business, and operations teams to expand automation coverage and drive quality initiatives.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure test strategies align with business objectives and technical requirements.
- Prepare and deliver technical documentation, visual workflows, and presentations using PowerPoint and Miro to communicate plans and progress effectively.
- Develop clear action plans, decompose complex tasks, and consistently deliver on project commitments.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, with a focus on automation frameworks, data-driven testing, and quality metrics.
- Proficiency in automation tools and platforms for web, mobile, and API testing (Selenium, Appium, Mabl, Postman).
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or similar languages for test automation and scripting.
- Solid experience with relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server) for data validation and backend testing.
- Hands-on experience integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines and test management systems (Jira, Spira).
- Expertise in building visual dashboards and reports using Jira, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
- Practical experience applying GenAI applications in testing to improve automation coverage and analytics.
- Strong analytical, reasoning, and influencing skills with a track record of effective cross-team collaboration.
- Adaptable to fast-paced, dynamic environments with proven ability to manage shifting priorities.
- Domain knowledge in personal lending, banking, and financial services and is considered a strong asset.
- Bachelors in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar.
