Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality Engineering VP/Director to lead our quality engineering department. This role demands a deep understanding of tech-heavy, metrics-driven quality engineering processes and a proven track record in implementing automation and data management strategies. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who is passionate about leveraging technology to drive quality and efficiency. The candidate must have extensive, demonstrable hands-on development experience and deep understanding of modern SDLC. In perfect world we’re looking to attract a Software Engineer that morphed into Quality Engineering career.

This role is Hybrid. You should be located within a commutable distance to one of our offices located in Baltimore MD, Charlotte NC, Wilmington DE, Evansville IN, Chicago IL, or Dallas/Fort Worth TX. We do not provide relocation assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and lead implementation of a robust quality engineering strategy that champions automation and test data management, with a particular focus on front-end, mid-range systems, and legacy platforms like mainframe and AS400.

  • Lead and mentor a team of quality engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and technical excellence.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quality engineering principles throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products.

  • Drive the adoption of best practices in code quality, testing methodologies, and automation frameworks, ensuring they are efficiently implemented and consistently applied across all projects.

  • Champion the development and utilization of advanced data analytics and visualization tools to monitor, analyze, and report on quality metrics, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.

  • Oversee the management of testing environments, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and aligned with the company's technical architecture and business goals.

  • Continuously assess and refine quality engineering processes, incorporating feedback from team members and stakeholders to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the quality engineering function, setting ambitious targets and driving the team to achieve them.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Expertise in modern automation frameworks and tools, as well as software development and testing methodologies.

  • Strong background in data management and visualization, with proficiency in using analytics platforms to drive decision-making.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement quality strategies that align with business objectives and technology trends.

  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing high-performing teams.

  • Outstanding communication and collaboration abilities, capable of engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
