We are seeking a VP/Director of Software Engineering to join our BrightWay Credit Card leadership team. The candidate willpossessa strong understanding of software engineering and systems architecture, how technology is used to drive business value and how to manage strategic technology initiativesThis leader will lead the work with enterprise architects, Cards Product team, IT, and Business Management to identify, design, and execute key strategic technology initiativesThis individual will help lead the credit cards software engineering function supporting existing customer management.  A proven executive, capable of leading teams of varying sizes.

In the Role you will:

  • Develop, optimize, and evolve BrightWay Credit Card Collections platform.

  • Provide architecture direction and guidance for the BrightWay Credit Card business. 

  • Coordinate and align activities of IT and lines of business for establishing and executing against application domain architecture.

  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and the software platform’s resiliency supporting cards line of business.

  • Provide technology stewardship to the Credit Cards domain.

  • Work with the Head of Cards Analytics, Cards IT, CTO, and other senior management on defining architecture best practices.

  • Play an active role in defining enterprise architecture guidelines and participating in the technical architecture council.

  • Prepare documentation/messaging necessary for Data to communicate strategies and plans to executive management.

  • Provide process engineering and PMO support to cards business as required.

  • Shapes the organization's legacy in the engineering domain. 

  • Independently drives transformation initiatives. 

  • Fosters an autonomous and empowered culture across the enterprise. 

  • Cascades vision, values, and strategy and provides clarity on how efforts contribute to the company mission and objectives

  • Drives the delivery of high-impact initiatives that set industry benchmarks. 

  • Demonstrates unmatched resilience and consistency, even under the most challenging circumstances. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related discipline is preferred.

  • Experience performing executive-level coordination of IT/Engineering management within mid-to-large-sized financial services firms

  • Experience in system integration patterns.  Proficient with cloud-based architecture and domain knowledge in cloud native services.

  • Proficient in working with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) and version control systems like Git

  • Familiarity with Agile development process and working in cross-functional team setup.

  • Proficient in Typescript, NodeJS and Angular

  • Hands-on experience with building Micro Services,  Hybrid Mobile App frameworks
