Senior Data Analyst-Technology FinOps

About the Role
We’re seeking a strategic and analytical Senior Technology Data Analyst to join our FinOps team to help transform how we leverage technology data to drive financial performance and business outcomes. This role sits at the intersection of data science, finance, and technology operations—ideal for someone who thrives on uncovering insights that lead to meaningful change.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze complex datasets related to technology spend, utilization, and performance across platforms and teams
- Develop models and dashboards that link technology investments to business outcomes (e.g., ROI, productivity, customer experience)
- Partner with finance, IT, and business units to identify opportunities for cost optimization and value creation
- Translate data findings into actionable recommendations for senior leadership
- Monitor KPIs and build predictive analytics to support strategic decision-making
- Partner with FinOps pillar leads to ensure consistent and accurate data inputs.
- Lead data analysis to support a specific project or team with a strong ability to identify trends, patterns, and develop meaningful insights.
- Identify areas for improvement and suggest changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Create clear and comprehensive documentation and communications, ensuring that documentation is easily understandable for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Continuously develop skills and knowledge to improve effectiveness as a technical analyst by staying informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Conduct thorough reviews of documentation and work products to ensure the quality of deliverables.
- Adaptable and open to learning new tools and methodologies as the business landscape evolves.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, preferably within a technology or enterprise environment
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills. Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical and time management skills
- Proven capacity to work independently and manage multiple, competing demands.
- Deep understanding of financial modeling and business performance metrics
- Understanding of resource capacity planning
- Strong understanding of IT financials, budgeting, and cost allocation models
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
- Excellent communication skills and executive presence
- Experience working with cloud platforms, enterprise systems, and IT service management data
- Familiarity with change management principles is required to facilitate the adoption of new processes or technologies.
