Accounting Manager – Regulatory Reporting
OneMain Holdings, Inc. is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill an Accounting Manager role in our Regulatory Reporting Department. This position is responsible for overseeing the timely and accurate preparation and filing of various financial regulatory reports on a monthly, quarterly, bi-annually and annual basis. This position will supervise the preparation of complex financial and regulatory reports data to ensure quality, accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, (“GAAP”) and regulatory requirements; as well as Company policies and procedures. The position will participate in interpreting regulatory reporting requirements as well as any analysis and implementation of accounting, process and regulatory changes. This position will also be required to research and monitor financial data to ensure data integrity.
Job Responsibilities:
Successful candidates applying for the Accounting Manger – Regulatory Reporting position will be able to execute the following duties:
• Manage a team of 3 accounting professionals
• Supervise the production of organized documentation and detailed procedures timely in accordance with regulatory reporting instructions and in compliance with documented internal controls, standards and procedures and Company policy
• Cross-train in the preparation and analysis of other government reports prepared on a more frequent basis
• Maximize the use of automated technology to achieve the highest level of quality and efficiency in the preparation of regulatory reports
• Supervise the preparation of financial and regulatory reports to ensure quality, accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with accounting principles and regulatory requirements
• Conduct investigations of variance analysis independently and escalate issues to management appropriately
• Ensure adherence to the Regulatory Reporting departmental standards, policies, and procedures
• Recommend procedural changes / process improvement opportunities to streamline our processes and ensure the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of the reporting process
• Develop a strong knowledge of the Company’s systems and tools to utilize them effectively in report preparation
• Respond timely to internal/external inquiries regarding financial data
• Maintain a strong collaborative working relationships with the team and intercompany departments, such as Licensing and Compliance departments
• Provide training to the regulatory reporting team
Job Requirements:
Candidates applying to this position will be considered based upon the follow demonstrated qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• CPA or CPA candidate is preferred
• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles 1+ years of management experience
• Accounting experience in a regulated entity environment is preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and ability to access and process data
• SQL, OneStream or ERP experience is preferred
• Exceptional communications skills, both oral and written
• Familiarity with GAAP and financial statement preparation and analysis, and the ability to apply them appropriately within the organization
• Ability to think, and work, independently resolving challenging issues under tight deadlines
