The Role

We are looking for a Staff Engineer to join our Content Team, responsible for managing the unauthenticated content across OneMainFinancial.com. This is a critical role that blends hands-on technical contributions with team leadership and strategic direction.

As a Staff Engineer, you will lead the architectural direction and best practices for front-end development across our content ecosystem. This role is approximately 60% hands-on coding and 40% collaboration, including mentorship, code reviews, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical strategy and implementation for unauthenticated content on OneMainFinancial.com.

• Build, maintain, and optimize responsive and performant front-end experiences using Angular and modern development standards.

• Collaborate with product, design, content, and marketing teams to deliver scalable and flexible web solutions.

• Perform regular code reviews and mentor other engineers on front-end development best practices.

• Define and implement front-end architecture patterns that support scalability, maintainability, and reusability.

• Partner with DevOps and backend teams to ensure seamless integration with APIs and AWS infrastructure.

• Champion accessibility, performance, and security in all aspects of front-end development.

• Engage with stakeholders to align engineering goals with business objectives.

Requirements

5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on front-end development.

• Expert-level knowledge of JavaScript, Angular, HTML5, and CSS3.

• Strong understanding of modern front-end architecture, component design, and state management.

• Experience working within the AWS ecosystem, including deploying and managing front-end applications.

• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD workflows, and modern development tools (e.g., Webpack, ESLint, Prettier).

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of cross-functional engagement.

Preferred:

• Experience with Contentful or other headless CMS platforms.

• Working knowledge of Ruby on Rails and how it integrates with front-end services.

• Background in SEO optimization and web performance tooling.

Target base salary range is $130K – $170K, which is based on various factors including skills and work experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a competitive compensation program that is based on individual and company performance.
