VP, Vendor Relationship & Program Management
OneMain Financial is seeking a strategic operations leader to manage OneMain’s critical partnerships with FIS and Mastercard and evolve the operating model strategy for the credit cards program. This role is responsible for transforming our current vendor oversight into a structured, value-driven engagement model that supports the growth and efficiency of our credit card program. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in supplier relationship management, operational governance, and process and cost optimization.
In this role:
Serve as the primary relationship owner for FIS, OneMain’s credit card processing platform provider.
Establish and evolve a structured engagement model that supports both tactical execution and long-term strategic alignment
Lead the development of a joint roadmap that aligns with the aspirations of the Cards program
Establish an effective oversight and engagement program to manage
Problem and inquiry ticketing and issue resolution
Performance metrics and service level adherence, including development of a quarterly performance scorecard
Professional services delivery
Invoice accuracy, ensuring that services are invoiced according to contractual terms. If they are not, implement and execute an effective dispute process
Establish and effective engagement model that promotes a sense of joint accountability, deep commitment to meeting objectives, and open communication
Manage plastics inventory. Stay in tune with new account and reissue forecasts and understand ordering lead times, to ensure that vendor maintains adequate inventory across each card product to fulfill on OneMain’s customer needs
Serve as the primary relationship owner for Mastercard
Gain a thorough understanding of how OneMain’s costs and revenue are impacted by our contractual terms, and how costs are billed (directly or pass through FIS) for each service
Gain awareness of how OneMain could reduce expenses, increase interchange revenue, or take advantage of other service offerings that may be financially or functionally beneficial for the Cards program.
Ensure that a process is in place to validate invoice accuracy
Understand credits, rebates and marketing funds available through Mastercard, and work with the broader Cards leadership team to maximize and monitor usage
Establish and drive a quarterly review process in which OneMain receives benchmarks and comparative performance data to evaluate our effectiveness around fraud prevention and charge-backs, cardholder spend and other key program metrics.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration
Partner with internal teams including Product, IT/Engineering, Finance, Legal/Compliance, and other parts of Operations to ensure alignment on vendor strategy and priorities
Act as a key escalation point for vendor-related issues and lead resolution efforts
Collaborate with Product Managers to fully understand the Cards development roadmap and OKRs. Along with the MD, Card Operations, proactively work to anticipate potential operational and customer impacts of planned product and service initiatives and consult on design and implementation as needed
Play a key role in the onboarding of new operational vendors and capabilities
Requirements:
7+ years of experience in vendor relationship management (preferably, strategically critical vendors with an annual spend of greater than $15MM), enterprise program management, or operations management at a senior level
Proven experience managing complex vendor relationships in financial services or fintech
Strong technical skills to facilitate product solution discussions and enable greater understanding and utilization of systemic features, functionality and configurations
High degree of organization, demonstrating the ability to track and drive deliverables from both vendors and internal stakeholders, and hold both accountable in a professional way. Not prone to having balls drop
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret cost structures and identify opportunities
Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Process orientation. Preferably some experience with Lean or Six Sigma
Results focused. Driven to achieve outcomes
Strong presentation skills. Able to efficiently tell a story through data and engage effectively with senior level stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Operations, Finance or related field preferred
Location: (HYBRID) 3 days per week: Tuesdays - Thursdays
