Associate Director, Strategic Finance & Business Operations
Overview
We are seeking a high-impact, intellectually curious leader to join our team as Director of Strategic Finance & Business Operations. This role is designed for a generalist problem solver—someone who thrives in ambiguity and can bring structure, insight, and action to complex, cross-functional challenges.
You will operate as a force multiplier for the business, working across corporate functions and leadership to evaluate investments, improve decision-making, and drive operational effectiveness.
This is not a traditional FP&A role—it’s about figuring out what matters and making it better.
Key Responsibilities
Own Ambiguous, High-Impact Problems
Lead analysis and decision support for loosely defined, high-priority business questions
Frame problems, gather imperfect data, and drive to clear, actionable recommendations
Act as a “go-to” partner for high priority projects
Evaluate cost structures with a focus on ROI, efficiency, and strategic alignment
Support budgeting and forecasting—but with an emphasis on decision-making, not reporting
Executive Decision Support
Build business cases, scenario analyses, and “what if” models for senior leadership
Distill complex topics into clear insights and recommendations
Challenge assumptions and elevate the quality of decision-making
Build Structure Without Bureaucracy
Create simple, scalable frameworks where none exist
Improve how the company evaluates spend and operational performance
Balance rigor with speed—focus on what actually drives decisions
What You Bring
7+ years of experience in strategic finance, consulting, business operations, or similar
Proven ability to operate in unstructured environments and drive outcomes
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, paired with business judgment
Ability to go from blank page → structured thinking → executive-ready recommendation
Confidence working with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions
High ownership, with a fast-paced entrepreneurial approach
What Success Looks Like
Leadership has clearer, faster, better-informed decisions
Corporate costs are actively managed as investments, not just expenses
Ambiguous problems get solved—not passed around
The role becomes a trusted extension of senior leadership
Why This Role
Broad exposure across the company and leadership team
Opportunity to shape how the business allocates resources and operates
Dynamic scope that evolves with business priorities
Ideal for someone who wants to own outcomes, not just analysis
Location: New York City, NY –In office (Tues-Thurs)
Target base salary range is $140,000-180,000 annually, which is based on various factors including skills and work experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a competitive additional compensation program that is based on individual and company performance.
